IELTS is a test that requires very good English.
🧭 1. Understand the Structure
The writing test has two tasks:

Task 1 (Academic): describe data, charts, processes, or maps.

Task 1 (General Training): write a letter (formal / semi-formal / informal).

Task 2: essay — discuss an argument, problem, or opinion.
👉 Task 2 is worth twice as many points as Task 1.
So time management is critical — about 20 minutes for Task 1, 40 minutes for Task 2.
🕑 2. Plan Before You Write
Spend 3–5 minutes planning:

Read the question carefully.

Underline keywords (topic, instruction, point of view).

Decide your main ideas and examples.

Organize into 4 paragraphs (Intro, 2 Body, Conclusion).

✍️ 3. Follow the Question’s Instruction
Many students lose marks because they:

Don’t answer all parts (Task Achievement ↓).

➡️ Always check what the task asks you to do (e.g., “Give your opinion,” “Discuss both views,” etc.)

Avoid informal words: ❌ “a lot of” → ✅ “a large number of”

💡 The examiner looks for Cohesion & Coherence (25%).
⚖️ 6. Check Grammar & Vocabulary
In the last 3–5 minutes:

Check subject–verb agreement.

Check spelling and punctuation.

Use variety: simple + complex sentences.
